PCC, Mini Rifle, Shotgun Divisions (shoot from 3m to 50m)
Shotgun division shooting distance ranges from 3m to 50m. Usually within the close range, they use birdshot, and for longer distance, they use slug.
PCC (Pistol Caliber Carbine), there are some popular gun types, like AR-9, CZ Scorpion EVD 3, SIG MPX, Beretta CX4 Storm. Considering that the shooting distance of the PCC division is usually from 10m to 50 and rarely over 50m. We would recommend red dot (sometimes combines magnifier), prism scope, LPVO, LPVO combines with red dot. If you're looking for compatible ammunition, such as.223 Remington or 5.56x45mm rounds, ensure you choose hich-quaity options tailored to your firearm's specifications.
For divisions such as PCC (Pistol Caliber Carbine), Mini Rifle, and Shotgun, red dot are also the popular choice due to its intuitivity. When you pick the red dot, the logic is the same as that for pistol division, large window size, big dot size, durable housing material, solar power option, etc. Check our previous blog post to learn more (with link). However, the enclosed red dot may be preferred on some platforms. For shotgun division, open red dot is preferred for rapid target acquisition especially during the fast-paced competition situation.
Another potential option is prism scope. Vector Optics has two prism options, SCPS-M01, and SCPS-M10. M10 is our lastest mini version prism scope, which is cigarette case size and is an ideal lightweight option.
Several reasons to pick prism scope instead of LPVO and red dot. Prism scope is like a compact design rifle scope. It is especially user-friendly for people with astigamatism, when compared to red dot. Due to the delicate optical pathway design, the scope provides crisp and sharp sight view & center dot. The etched reticle is reliable and remains functional even when the illumination fails in the competition. SCPS-M01 and SCPS-M10 both provides true 1x power, which benefits fast target acquisition especially during IPSC competition. Vector Optics' prism scopes usually come with a weaver or picatinny quick release mount, which allows you directly install on your gun.
