Review of Vector Optics Laser Light

2024-09-25

My latest test subject is a Vector Optics laser light.

The contents of the box: lamp, quick-release assembly, rocker switch, tools, but the battery is unfortunately not included. Otherwise, it also works with a CR-123 3V battery.

The lamp is made of high-quality aluminum alloy and has a matte black finish. It comes with a quick-release device that can be mounted on a Picatinny rail, with the help of which the laser light can be adjusted both horizontally and vertically. The length of the lamp is 147 mm. It weighs 233 grams. The push button on it can be replaced with a rocker switch. Rain and impact resistant. The minimum diameter of the laser beam is 1.5 cm at 10 meters, 2 cm at 50 meters and 2.5 cm at 100 meters. Its maximum diameter is 45 cm at 5 meters and 320 cm at 25 meters.

I tested the lamp at a night HFT competition at a distance of 7-42 meters. I adjusted the diameter of the laser light before each shot. I have never used a laser light before. I could see the targets clearly between 7 and 30 meters. Since the HFT rules do not allow the parallax adjustment of the binoculars during the competition, the image on the metal targets above 30 meters is very blurred. Its laser beam is very strong and powerful.

Positives:

- the laser light is also visible during the day

- quick-release device, adjustable in all directions

- rain and impact resistant

- rocker switch

- the diameter of the laser beam can be adjusted

Negative:

- the battery is not included

Overall, this is a great lamp, but it is not the most suitable for HFT competition - due to its rules.

Recommended for hunting and tactical weapons.

Thank you for the opportunity:
