Here is the Scrapper 1x25 Solar Power Multi Reticle Red Dot Sight review from Csaba Zoltán Laboncz.
REVIEW OF PARAGON 10x42 BINOCULARS WITH RANGEFINDER (SCBRF-02)
First of all, I would like to thank Vector Optics for giving me the opportunity to test this product and give a totally unbiased opinion. The binoculars came in their box with the new white and blue color format, properly packaged. Inside, the binoculars inside a protective pouch inside the black fluffy cloth case, along with the strap and cleaning cloth and a translucent sheet with instructions. After taking it out of its case, you can appreciate a robust equipment, in plastic material and with the diopter and focus adjustment roulettes in a metallic gray color. The eyepieces are finished in rubbery plastic material of good grip and adjustment. As indicated in the instructions, if glasses are not worn, they should be extended to the required size. With glasses, they should fit snugly. This ensures a better fit.The interpupillary distance adjustment is held firmly, neither opening nor closing easily.
The focus adjustment is made in a similar way to other binoculars, by means of 3 steps, the last one corresponding to the diopter adjustment of the rangefinder display. Note that both the right, left and central diopter focus are performed smoothly.
In general, the positive aspects are the following:
-The rough surface and material of the equipment allow a good grip, with and without gloves.
- Measurements have been made at different times of the day, with a lot of illumination and with little illumination. Even at night to distant buildings, comparing a posteriori with cartographic measurements and that the measurements were within the parameters indicated in their specifications (±1@<300yd, ±2@300-1500yd).
- As can be seen in the attached images and video, measurements have been taken at dawn in the field, with the sun in front and with morning mist. The measurement is shown on the display of the telemeter.
- The measurements are obtained quickly, and with the help of the “scanner” option an instantaneous measurement is obtained.
- The measurements of the equipment (10x42 mm) are sufficient to be able to assess the animals in the hunting activity and its proportions and weight (862 gr) are not excessive or superior to other equipment of the competition. The fact of having binoculars and rangefinder in a single piece of equipment is to be appreciated.
- With all the tests performed, I have not felt visual fatigue at any time. The clarity of the images and the possibility of regulating the brightness level of the measurement display, help to do so.
- The long measuring range for animals (over 800 yd) or trees (over 1500 yards) makes the Paragon a must-have for hunters who like to hunt far away.
- One of the things that I liked the most was that the measurement is not immediately erased from the display. On the other hand, the ease of configuration ensures that it can be to everyone's liking: it has 9 brightness levels and 7 different reticles. Personally, the one I have used the most and liked the most is the one that corresponds to the “O” of the Vector Optics brand.
- Likewise, it has the possibility of choosing between yards or meters, as well as the possibility of choosing real measurement or horizontal measurement with angle indication. It consists of the indispensable and necessary.
- It has an area to thread an adapter and to be able to place it on a tripod.
On the other hand, a number of things that could perhaps be improved for future updates of the product:
- The protective caps are made of soft rubber. It would be interesting if there were some flip-up type like those of the continental scopes, much more resistant.
- The MODE and MEASUREMENT buttons are easy to press, but in case of wearing gloves, it can be a little more complicated. They should have a small notch to locate them better.
- The equipment works with a CR2 battery (not included), easy to install in its lower part. Perhaps it could have an internal battery and be charged with usb-c connection.
- Although the image is quite sharp (BK-7 lenses), it could be improved if ED lenses were used as in continental scopes.
- I missed a possible bluetooth connection for ballistic applications.
All in all, it is a piece of equipment that will become a must for my field trips.
