VECTOR OPTICS TAURUS GEN II 3-24X56 ED FFP

2024-09-25

After few days for testing the new telescope Taurus Gen II 3-24x56 ED FFP from Vector Optics.

These are my point of views:

1. Magnification Range:

o 3-24x: This wide magnification range makes the scope versatile for various shooting scenarios, from mid-range to long-range distances.

2. Objective Lens Diameter:

o 56mm: The large objective lens allows for more light to enter the scope, providing a brighter and clearer image, especially in low-light conditions.

3. ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) Glass:

o The use of ED glass in the lenses reduces chromatic aberration, providing sharper and clearer images with better color fidelity.

4. FFP (First Focal Plane) Reticle:

o In an FFP scope, the reticle scales with the zoom level. This means the size of the reticle changes as you zoom in or out, allowing for consistent holdover and windage corrections at any magnification.

5. Reticle:

o The Taurus Gen II typically features an illuminated reticle, which is helpful in low-light conditions. The reticle is usually designed for tactical or long-range precision shooting, with markings that assist in range estimation and bullet drop compensation.

6. Turrets:

o Exposed Tactical Turrets: These turrets are designed for precise and quick adjustments in windage and elevation, which are crucial in long-range shooting. The turrets are often zero-resettable and sometimes lockable to prevent accidental adjustments.

7. Build Quality:

o The scope is constructed from high-grade aluminum, providing durability while keeping the weight manageable. It is typically shockproof, waterproof, and fog-proof, making it suitable for use in various environmental conditions.

8. Parallax Adjustment:

o The scope includes a side parallax adjustment knob, which allows you to fine-tune focus and eliminate parallax error at different distances.

9. Field of View (FOV):

o The field of view varies depending on the magnification level. A lower magnification provides a wider FOV, while a higher magnification narrows it down, which is typical for most scopes.

10. Eye Relief:

o The eye relief is designed to be generous, which is essential for shooting with high-recoil calibers, ensuring that the shooter's eye remains at a safe distance from the scope.

Applications:

Tactical Shooting: The scope’s features, such as FFP reticle and precise turrets, make it ideal for tactical environments.

Long-Range Hunting: The wide magnification range and large objective lens are well-suited for spotting and engaging targets at extended ranges.

Competitive Shooting: Precision adjustments and high-quality optics make it a good choice for competitive shooters, especially in long-range disciplines.

Ideal for both firearms or airguns

Conclusion:

The Vector Optics Taurus Gen II 3-24x56 ED FFP is a versatile and high-performance riflescope that caters to serious shooters who require precision and reliability, particularly in long-range shooting scenarios. The combination of FFP reticle, ED glass, and robust construction make it a competitive option in its category.
