Here is the Frenzy Plus 1x22x32 Red Dot Sight Solar Power and VictOptics S6 1-6x24 LPVO Coyote FDE review from Csaba Zoltán Laboncz.
Today, I had the opportunity to thoroughly examine two optical devices in one day: one from Vector Optics and the other purchased by a very good friend of mine. The two subjects were a reflex sight with a large window (a Red Dot sight) and a variable magnification scope.
I'll start with the Red Dot sight, the SCRD-SM44. This is a reflex sight with a relatively large lens and a much bigger window than the typical pistol Red Dot sights. These optics are a result of current trends, as optics are becoming more common in dynamic sports shooting, where quick and accurate target acquisition is needed. Larger optics offer an advantage in this scenario. Additionally, these sights can be used on carbines, PCCs, and even shotguns. The exact lens size is 22x32 mm, compared to the typical 18x24 mm size found in most optics, so there is a noticeable difference.
As shown in the video, Vector Optics excels in optics manufacturing across the board. The build quality meets modern standards perfectly—it's beautiful, ergonomic, and the materials used (6061-T6 aluminum housing) are excellent. The weight of the device is surprisingly low considering its size (important, for example, when adding weight to the slide of a pistol, as it can affect the mechanics). The surface treatment is flawless, and the lens quality is unquestionable. I was particularly impressed by its clarity and flawless surface.
This optic is also Multi-Reticle, offering a standard 3 MOA red dot, a 32 MOA outer circle, and the option to combine both. This is the first Vector Optics red dot I've tested where I didn’t need maximum brightness, even in direct sunlight; it can compete with the brightness of other brands. Speaking of brightness, it has 8 daylight and 2 nighttime settings, offering plenty of adjustment for various lighting conditions. The manufacturer has also used new adjustment screws that emit a clicking sound with each small turn, where one click equals 1 MOA. Perfect.
To turn it on, off, or adjust the brightness and reticle, two easy-to-use, rubber-covered buttons are located on the left side. The footprint used is Vector Optics's own standard, named GIN, which is compatible with the C-MORE footprint. A very convenient feature is that the sight comes with a Picatinny rail adapter, allowing it to be mounted on virtually anything. What I particularly liked about this adapter is that it's quick-release and can be adjusted very precisely, whether for ease of installation or maximum stability. It's a high-quality, precise adapter with flawless execution.
As for the packaging, it arrives in a stylish two-part box with instructions, a small carbine-style tool, a lens cleaning cloth, a few screws, and, of course, the VIP warranty activation card. Yes, this model also comes with the VIP lifetime warranty, which is quite rare in this segment.
The power source is a standard CR2032 battery, inserted from the side (as in newer Vector models). This model is also equipped with a solar panel, allowing for a lifespan of up to 80,000 hours (yes, eighty thousand) on a single battery.
Reliability is ensured by its stability under up to 800G of force and an IPX7 waterproof rating. It can be used on pistols, carbines, and shotguns.
At the time of writing this review, the price is 250 Euros, which places it in the affordable category.
The only negative aspect I can mention (which is probably just an issue for me, as I mainly shoot with pistols) is that most pistol manufacturers currently use the RMR footprint, which Vector calls MOJ. Therefore, this optic, due to its size and base, can only be mounted with an intermediate Picatinny rail setup or if a compatible GIN base is available for the specific pistol. But this is obviously not relevant outside of pistols.
What I liked:
Huge, very clear lens
Very precise and easy to adjust
Strong and multi-level adjustable brightness, with a nice and variable reticle
Solar panel, easy battery replacement
Adapter base
Great packaging
VIP warranty
Excellent craftsmanship
Affordable price
What I didn’t like:
The only issue I can mention is the base, but this is just my personal problem and I don’t think it affects many people.
Now, let’s talk about another optical device: the LPVO S6 1-6x24 SFP scope made by VictOptics, a subsidiary of Vector Optics. Please forgive me, as I’m not much of a rifle user, and even when I do handle a carbine or a small rifle, I usually shoot with a red dot sight. Therefore, I don’t have extensive experience with these types of devices. Nonetheless, I wanted to write about this optic because I was so impressed with it, and its design—especially its bronze color—captivated me.
The complete set was purchased, meaning that along with the scope itself, it also included all the necessary mounting accessories (two types: a one-piece AR mount and a two-piece mount with separate bases), screws, tools, as well as a dial for easy adjustments and the usual accessories like the user manual and lens caps.
In terms of size, it’s more of a tactical/sporting device, measuring 249 mm in length, with an objective lens diameter of 30 mm and an ocular lens diameter of 42 mm. It has a relatively low profile, which makes it very ergonomic.
What I found particularly interesting was how such an accurate and modern adjustable magnification scope could be offered at such a low budget. The scope has an adjustable ring that allows you to change the magnification from 1x to 6x with a simple hand motion using the magnification ring (which also features a compact lever). This functionality is demonstrated clearly in the test video, and it works incredibly well. Of course, it also has an adjustable diopter. In addition, there are very user-friendly windage and elevation turrets. Next to them is a red dot switch, where you can place a CR2032 battery to illuminate the reticle in either red or green, with 5 brightness settings. The precision of the adjustments is also impressive, with each click on the ballistic turrets representing 1/5 MIL. We used it on a .22 carbine, and the optic easily outperformed the rifle’s performance. With the small rifle, we were able to keep shots within 1 cm at 50 meters. During magnification, there was no distortion or optical illusion, and the field of view remained sharp and clear.
The material is the same high-quality 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum that’s typical of Vector Optics, making the internal structure of the scope resistant to up to 750G of force. It also has an IPX4 waterproof rating and is fully nitrogen-filled.
This scope can be used for relatively short-range hunting, sports, and tactical shooting. It was a very enjoyable experience using this scope, and it definitely gives the shooter a feeling of being a marksman.
Now, let’s talk about the most important part—the price, which is why I really wanted to try out this scope. As of writing this review, the basic optic in black is priced at 149 Euros, while the full set featured in the test (bronze optic, AR mount, adjustment lever) costs 197 Euros. For this price, you won’t find a product with such high quality and these features anywhere else on the market.
What I liked:
Very well-built quality
Maximum clarity through the lenses
Adjustable magnification
Design
Very precise, quick, and well-crafted adjustments
Very fine, detailed reticle that can be illuminated
Unbeatable price-to-performance ratio
What I didn’t like:
I can’t think of anything negative. Either it has no downsides, or due to my lack of experience with scopes, I simply don’t notice anything.
